Just

 Lets not bury ourselves

Under the dirt we dig

As we dwell on the past

And make it a part so big

Its not in the words already said

Its not in those we may tomorrow utter

My child hears my voice today

Tomorrow he will from within hear

Have we not read of wise words

From the giants that lead us

From within they are the voices

On every path they guide us

And isn't that wisdom always

Asking of us compassion and kindness

When others are troubled or pained

Asking for our understanding?

While we do that for others

While we are forgiving and calm

While we break our hearts in silence

It's time we remind ourselves,

The voices not only meant others

But also and more so, US.

That time of the year

It's that time of the year. I love to curl up on the couch. Except today am thinking of which  Of the many critters will crawl out on me. It's that time when the dawn feels magical The aroma of coffee so inviting The throw, the pillow such great company The chirping of the birds a lullaby. In a bit I will get up, put on my socks... Until then, I have NOW.
